Worsley ramps it up

A new concrete cutting product for demolition applications has won an award before it has been officially launched.

The Ramplifier, developed by Netherlands attachments manufacturer Rotar, won the Innovation title at the National Federation of Demolition Contractors annual awards in London last week.

The ISP (industry service provider) Innovation award is given to a company that has shown “continued and special dedication” to the development of innovative products for the demolition industry.

Sean Heron, managing director of Rotar’s UK dealer Worsley Plant, said: “To win such a prestigious award is fantastic. Rotar fully deserve this great achievement. Their continued commitment to providing market-leading demolition attachments is why we are proud to work with them as their UK supplier.”

The product, due to be launched at next month’s Bauma exhibition in Munich, is being introduced alongside Rotar’s new RCC Concrete Cutter and is said to double the power – from 350 to 700 bar – for cutting concrete.

The Ramplifier is activated when the pressure reaches 250/270 bar. Although it slows down the cutting process, the RCC by that stage is already biting through the concrete and so becomes more powerful.

Designed for heavy industrial demolition, the RCC is expected to be widely used by larger companies working on thick reinforced concrete structures such as bridges and high-rise car parks.
