That’s another Story

Story Contracting has opened a new head office in Scotland to accommodate a growing workforce and order book.

The 2,150 sq. metre office in Blantyre brings together the rail, civils and plant teams working on major projects including a five-year contract with Network Rail worth up to £135m for renewal and improvement projects.

The new headquarters – the third Scottish base for the division – includes a 1,000 sq. metre workshop to provide plant and equipment across work sites.

John MacArthur, managing director for Story Scotland, said: “I’m delighted with how my Story Scotland team has grown over the last five years, from just six employees in 2014 to where we are today.

“This is an exciting time to be a part of Story Scotland with our expanding footprint and growing bank of work in the rail and civils sectors across the country.”

The division has grown by 57% in Scotland this year and has plans to recruit a further 300 employees over the next five years.

Story Contracting runs a fleet of excavators, dozers, telehandlers and dumpers including 70 road rail vehicles.
