Shear class from Murray

By Mike Travers

Scots company Murray Plant has been named the world’s number one distributor by an American attachments manufacturer.

The Renfrewshire business bought a record-breaking number of Fortress-branded shears and pulverisers last year from ShearCore to earn the title of Fortress Worldwide Distributor of the year.

Bruce Bacon, president of ShearCore’s parent company Exodus, commented: “… there is no doubt that the skyrocketing success for Fortress in the United Kingdom is in large part due to the professional team at Murray Plant.”

ShearCore manufactures a full product line for the recycling and demolition industries at its facility in Superior, Wisconsin.

Murray Plant is no stranger to major titles: managing director Bruce Murray has twice lifted the World Dealer of the Year trophy awarded by Finnish breaker manufacturer Rammer and has been its UK Dealer of the Year on five occasions. The company also handles Allu screening buckets, Xcentric crushing buckets and Pladdet rotating grabs.

In another major coup, Murray has been appointed sole UK dealer by Oilquick, the Swedish quick coupler manufacturer. The franchise had been held since 2008 by English firm ECY Haulmark which signed an agreement late last year to distribute Steelwrist’s SQ quick couplers and attachment adaptors.
