Classic equipment will roll into a Perthshire farm later this month as owners from around the country arrive to put their vintage plant on show.

The working weekend event was first held last year when machines included an International Harvester dozer and a Cat scraper. It was organised by Morris Leslie of the Morris Leslie Group working with fellow muckshifting enthusiasts Paul Badger and Steve Richards. Leslie, a collector of iconic plant and equipment, expects the event to be a bigger attraction this year...

Down on the farm…last year’s event

The oldest machine in action last year was an International TD-18 dozer, working alongside an International TD15C. Caterpillar kit from local enthusiasts and collectors working the fields included a D9G and 463G towed scraper from Cumbernauld hirer D. Kerr and Sons while Jim Hair, a collector who runs his farming operation with classic Caterpillars and New Holland tractors, brought his 955 Traxcavator. Other supporters included local hirer Chic Kippen.

The event will be held September 21-22 at Gracefield Farm, St.Martins, Balbeggie. Interested in adding to the vintage fleet? contact: lee-anne.wilson@morrisleslie.co.uk
