Operator challenge goes global

A competitor tackles the wheeled loader element at last year’s European final in Malaga.

Registrations are now being taken for the UK heats of the Caterpillar Operator Challenge as the competition expands worldwide.

Dealer Finning UK & Ireland will host the UK knock-out stages on May 23-24 at Cat’s demonstration and learning centre in Desford, Leicestershire. The challenge was reinstated last year in Europe after a four-year hiatus and with the event now going global competition will be tougher than ever.

Operators qualifying in local heats conducted by dealers around the world will participate in regional semi-final competitions in Japan, Brazil, Spain and the United States during October and November this year.

The World Finals will be held at Conexpo-CON/AGG in Las Vegas in March 2020 with the over-all champion enjoying a two-person, all-expenses-paid trip to any one of Caterpillar’s global facilities.

In each stage of the competition, operators will tested on their agility, mental toughness and versatility, as well as their competence in using integrated technology such as Production Measurement and GRADE systems.
