A Fife hirer has updated its transport fleet with six new DAF tippers.
Robert Purvis Plant Hire of Lochgelly specified the vehicles with a HARSH combined ram and tank front end tipping gear.
“Tipper specifications just keep getting better and better,” said managing director Craig Purvis, “so there’s always something new to learn. For these latest vehicles, we switched to HARSH front end gears for their ideal combination of low weight, high strength and proven local support.
“Installed on our preferred DAF chassis with Thompsons Loadmaster Lite multi-purpose steel bodies, the end result is a set of highly productive trucks that are also some 200kgs lighter than the ones they replace.”
With an unladen weight of 13,200kg, the trucks are carrying materials including rubble, aggregates and topsoil.
Purvis Group, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, is involved in plant hire, haulage, demolition, quarrying, waste management and recycling.
